The "Heart & Soul" Story
Where Tradition Meets the Perfect Steam
At DI Cafe (Desi Idli), we believe that the best meals don’t just fill your stomach, they warm your soul. Our journey started with a simple mission: to bring the authentic, unfiltered flavors of a traditional south Indian kitchen to your neighborhood i.e, in Patna.
Whether it’s the satisfying crunch of a Medu Vada, the perfect golden lace of a Masala Dosa, or our namesake Desi Idlis, steamed to pillowy perfection. Every dish we serve is a tribute to time-honored recipes.
But we didn’t stop at the South. We know that a true “Desi” experience isn’t complete without the street-side classics. That’s why we serve up buttery, spicy Vada Pav and pour the most comforting Tandoori Chai and Filter Coffee in town.

OUR TESTIMONIALS
Customers are Saying Something Foodie
"I work nearby and always look for something quick but filling. My go-to is the Chhota Recharge (those mini idlis with sambhar are addictive!). If I have a meeting later, I'll grab an Ishquiya Coffee (Black Coffee) to stay sharp. The service is fast, and the vibe is always positive!"
"The Perfect Afternoon Recharge"
- Amit"My family loves coming here on Sundays. My kids are obsessed with the Cheese Ka Chamatkar Vada Pav, hey think the name is hilarious! I personally love the Shuddh Desi Romance dosa because the ghee and dry fruits make it feel so special. It’s our favorite 'treat yourself' spot in Kankarbagh."
"Weekend Brunch with a Twist"
– Priya"Finding a place that does a proper Aa Aamchi Mumbai Vada Pav in Patna was a struggle until I found DI Cafe. Their Kankarbagh ka Karara vada is exactly what it sounds like a perfectly dark and crunchy. Plus, when I’m feeling lazy, their Free Home Delivery is a total lifesaver."
"Authentic Taste, Modern Vibe"
– Rahul"If you’re from Patna, you know we love things with a bit of 'Garda' (extra flair). That’s why the Garda Special Vada Pav is my absolute favorite. It’s got that local soul with a Bombay twist. When I'm feeling extra hungry, I pair it with a Drama Chai which have the tandoori flavor is just incredible."
"The Ultimate Vada Pav Gang"
– Vikram"As a college student, I’m always looking for a budget-friendly but healthy meal. The Sanyasi Uttapam (Plain Uttapam) is so light , but when I’m with my friends, we go for the Modern Masti the cheese and corn combo is a hit! I love that the menu uses such funny names like Chhichora Dosa; it always makes us laugh while we order."
"Healthy Meets Fun"
– Sneha"I start my mornings with the Quick Bite combo with two idlis and a hot coffee for just ₹40. You can't beat that price! If I'm feeling a bit low, I order the Udaasi Chai. The ginger (Adrak) is the perfect cure for a dull day. It’s the little things that make this place feel like home."
"The Morning Ritual"
– Deepa"Whenever my best friend and I need to catch up, we head straight to DI Café for a Chugli Chai (Masala Chai). The name is perfect because 'Chugli' means gossip, and that's exactly what we do! If I'm feeling a bit under the weather, I switch to the Udaasi Chai—the ginger in it is a total mood lifter. It’s the best ₹10–15 you’ll ever spend in Kankarbagh!"
"The Gossip and Ginger Cure"
– Anjali"I’m a big fan of the Pahalwaan Dosa. It’s a Paneer Masala Dosa that’s as strong and filling as the name suggests. On days when I’m extra hungry, I go for the The DI Special Platter. It’s got a Masala Dosa, Onion Uttapam, Idli, Vada, and tea—it’s a royal feast for just ₹150!"
"The Ultimate Hunger Fix"
– Manish"I spent some time in Mumbai, so I’m very picky about my Vada Pav. The Aa Aamchi Mumbai here is the real deal. But when I want something indulgent, I order the Cheese Ka Chamatkar. It’s a literal 'miracle' of cheese slice and potato. For just ₹40, it’s a total steal!"
